动名词（Gerund）用法要点

1. 动名词的逻辑主语：
    Do you mind my opening the door?
    Do you mind Jane's being left alone at home?
    Tom's returning so soon surprised me.

2. 动名词的被动式:
        一般式                被动式
     doing                     being done
     writing                   being written
     repairing                being repaired

I won't do that again because I'm afraid of being scolded.
Babies enjoyed being patted before they go to sleep
I dislike being looked at while attempting to learn skiing.

3. 动名词的完成式:
     一般式      完成式                    完成被动式：
 doing           having done              having been done
 being           having been                       ---
 repairing      having repaired         having been repaired   

    He is praised for having devoted his whole life to the country.

4.  动名词的否定式:
    not doing                      （一般式否定式）
    not having done           （完成式否定式）
    not being done            （被动式否定式）
    not having been done （完成被动式否定式）

    I must apologize for not having let you know  ahead of time.
    Tony was very unhappy for not having been invited to the party.
